Focus tests are a new system of collecting information from players. Each week (could be more or less depending on the subject) I’ll be posting a focus item for people to look for in-game. A thread will be started in the It’s Broken forum for people to report back to me on that specific concern. Information on the focus will also be given in the MOTD. After the feedback is collected I’ll patch and put up a new focus.

This week’s focus is on “uncustom” content. I’m looking for items, NPCs, or anything else that I missed while customizing. Thanks for your support, if everyone concentrates on one area I feel we’ll be able to get things done a lot faster.

I’ve dropped the resist modifiers a bit more. You should have less of a chance of being resisted now. When you are resisted you will have more of a chance to land a partial hit instead of it being a full resist. This is the biggest change in today’s patch. Please provide feedback so I can continue to adjust the resist rates server wide and by zone.

The next phase of the server-wide item revamp is in! This patch balances all weapons 1-70 (through Kael). Every weapon was adjusted, some more than others. For the most part the weapons were a lot easier to balance. Mostly just fine tuning but there were a few overpowered and a lot of underpowered weapons. The up in the underpowered weapons should give players more options in every zone. Almost forgot to mention, the patch also includes balancing to shields, wands, and bows through the same range.

Epic 1.0 Fine Tuning:
Damage/Delay ratios were adjusted but not by much. The HP/Mana on these epics were cut down a little bit. The 1.0’s should still last you a bunch of levels but not to the 1.5 like some classes were experiencing. Also new weapon models have been put in for the 1.0’s, the old ones were sort of a place holder until I could find some more appropriate ones. Most players will welcome the change. Another large change is that the epic 1.0’s will center around 1 weapon. Some classes got 2 or more. I’m going to “break” the other weapons if you have them already (bad stats). This should make item progression more fun for those classes since you will still have an offhand to fill.

The first phase of the server-wide item balance has gone in. This covers all non-weapon items from 1-70 (through Kael). The weapon balance for the same level range is almost done and you should see a post for that in the next few days. Also epic 1.0’s are going to get a rehaul in the weapon balance (including different graphics).

There are over 1000 items that have been modified in today’s patch. This should readjust everything about the 1-70 game. Every new zone you go to you will see your equipment improve. Hard to get equipment from one zoneĀ  isn’t replaced immediately with the next zones garbage, difficult to obtain loot will stay with you through a few, or a lot, of zones. This patch completely eliminates overpowered items, loot tables, and entire zones (coughrunnyeyecough).

Notable Changes:
Stats (str, wis, ect.) have been mostly scaled throughout the item tables. No more maxing stats in your 30’s.
AC has been a big problem and that has been adjusted to increase as you level. It was pretty wacked before.
HP/Mana have been very carefully scaled, they are the most important!
The biggest nerf was Kael armor sets, they are more in-line with the zone and level range now.
The biggest buff was fungus grove, actually better than the guk armor you got 15 levels ago!

I’ve finally finished the item balancing for 1-70, which excludes everything after Kael. It might not seem like much but I’ve been dealing with over a thousand custom items in just this chunk. I’ve gone through 65 pages of tables and made changes to all but a handful of items. The next step is getting these into the computer so I can patch them in all at once. There may be a few items of concern here or there that I missed but I think I did a pretty good job.

This has taken me longer than expected, pending boredom, the patch should be coming in the next week or two. This should increase the quality of the game as players level 1-70. As always and promised as I get closer to my goal for the server I’ll continue to increase the experience gain as well.
